St. Vrain Valley School District art show kicks off next weekend

LONGMONT -- The St. Vrain Valley School District's annual art show, which features work from schools throughout the district, starts on Saturday, April 21, and will run through Sunday, May 6.

The show will be at the Twin Peaks Mall, 1250 S. Hover St., in the former Steve & Barry's store, on the west side of the mall, across from the movie theater. Artwork can be viewed during mall hours, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The district will host an artists' night open house at the show from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2. Both the public and students with artwork on display are invited to attend.

District administrators, principals and art teachers judge the pieces, which are submitted from all the public and charter schools in the district, and artists will receive certificates for their work.
